French title: Analyse architecturale et pertinence des techniques de représentation numériques. Une expérience pédagogique

Contribution to SCAN'07 Les apports de l'image numérique en conception architecturale, the 2nd edition of the Séminaire de Conception Architecturale Numérique, ULiège, May 2007. This paper was published in French in the conference proceedings.

Abstract:
For the past ten years, the exploration of digital representation techniques that can replace or extend the scope of traditional means used in architectural analysis has been an important focus of our teaching approach. The development of computer-generated short films as supports for architectural analysis is analyzed here in the light of two major concerns. Firstly, the inevitable historical continuity of digital technologies for architectural representation. Secondly, the contamination - understood in a positive sense - of traditional media by a visual culture nourished by cinema, advertising and video games.

Projects form the following students are featured in this article: Pierre-Yves Matagne, François Lichtle, Laurent Arnoldi, Philippe Nathan, Cristian Crisan, Arnaud De Moor.
